Here’s a Healthy Apple & Cocoa Cake recipe that’s moist, naturally sweetened, and made with wholesome ingredients — perfect for a guilt-free treat or snack!


🍎🍫 Healthy Apple & Cocoa Cake

A soft, rich chocolate cake with bits of sweet apple, made with no refined sugar and minimal fat.


Ingredients:

  • Dry:

    • 1 cup whole wheat flour (or oat flour for gluten-free)

    • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

    • 1 tsp baking powder

    • ½ tsp baking soda

    • ½ tsp cinnamon (optional but lovely with apple)

    • Pinch of salt

  • Wet:

    • 2 medium apples, peeled and grated

    • 2 eggs

    • ¼ cup olive oil or melted coconut oil

    • ⅓ cup maple syrup or honey

    • ½ tsp vanilla extract

    • ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce or Greek yogurt (for extra moisture)

  • Optional Add-ins:

    • ¼ cup dark chocolate chips

    • ¼ cup chopped walnuts or almonds


Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven:
    350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line with parchment paper.

  2. Mix dry ingredients:
    In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.

  3. Mix wet ingredients:
    In another large bowl, whisk eggs, oil, maple syrup, vanilla, and applesauce until smooth. Stir in grated apples.

  4. Combine:
    Add dry ingredients to the wet and mix just until combined. Fold in optional nuts or chocolate chips.

  5. Bake:
